Stay close while socially distancing

In these unsettling days it’s been heartening to see so many people coming up with different ways for us to all feel close, while apart. From local fitness clubs moving their classes online to gardening groups sharing videos with tips, everyone is adapting to ensure that we can get through this together.

We’ve seen lots of brilliant ideas popping up, so we wanted to bring you everything we’ve seen, to help to keep you occupied in the coming weeks. From everyone at Everbrite Windows, we hope you enjoy them and take care of each other.

You can’t get out of PE that easily

Schools might be closed for most of us, but that doesn’t mean that PE is cancelled. Lean in fifteen body coach, Joe Wicks, is going to be broadcasting 30 minute workouts aimed at children, Monday-Friday at 9am, for the coming weeks, live on his YouTube channel.

Rediscover BBC Radio

The BBC Sounds app is full of comedy shows (The Unbelievable Truth with David Mitchell is a firm favourite), documentaries, podcasts, house parties, sport, true crime… the list goes on. Have a dance, take a listen and try something new.

Enjoy live music

If you love going to concerts, you don’t have to miss out. Coldplays’ Chris Martin, Sheryl Crow, Pink, Garth Brooks and many others are heading to social media to live stream for very intimate performances.

Head to a West End show

Much loved story “The Wind in the Willows” has been adapted into a musical. The star studded West End show is streaming now for free, or with thanks for a small donation.

Visit museums across the world

Avoid the queues and the crowds with virtual tours around museums across the world, from the comfort of your couch.

Take a trip to the zoo

If you’ve always dreamed of going on a safari, you can get a glimpse into what it’s all about with Cincinnati Zoo, who will be broadcasting home safaris every day, through Facebook Live. If you want to learn more about animals, Brookfield Zoo will be broadcasting a zoo live chat.

Used all your home schooling resources already?

Many of us won’t be used to holding different lessons for our children, so if you would like some more ideas and resources, a lot of experts and education companies have brought them together here.

Here’s something for all the book lovers

If you didn’t make it to your local library before it closed, it’s worth checking out their online catalogue and audio book collection. Not a member? You may be able to get a temporary membership without ID now.

Many authors have read their favourite stories and put together some activities here. Michael Rosen also has his own YouTube channel where he reads some of his favourite stories and poems.

Never perfected your noses?

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to draw, there’s a draw along lesson every evening at 6pm, live on Facebook with Harptoons Pubslishing.

We hope that this helps you to bring a bit more of a routine to your days, in the coming weeks, and gives you some ideas on how to have some fun. From all of us at Everbrite Windows, we’d like to wish you all the best.
